EN 287-1-2011National foreword
This British Standard is the UK implementation of EN 287-1:2011. It
supersedes BS EN 287-1:2004, which is withdrawn.
BSI, as a member of CEN, is obliged to publish EN 287-1:2011 as a
British Standard. However, attention is drawn to the fact that during
the development of this European Standard, the UK committee
expressed concern at the deletion of Annex D which detailed the
variables to be confirmed and traceable for the prolongation of a
welder's qualification.
In order to prolong a welder's qualification test certificate, the UK
committee considers it good practice for the following variables
to be confirmed and traceable to demonstrate that the welder has
carried out welding representative of the original qualification test:
